Family Art with Painters Tape

Over Spring Break I needed to find something fun for my littles to do. I try to find things that will be both enjoyable for my husband and me as well as the kids. I was also in need of putting something on my living room wall. Previously I had posters, yes posters that were not framed, on the biggest wall in my living room.  I saw this project a few times on Pintrest and just never got around to doing it. So now we have one of a kind art in place of the poster eyesores.

Supplies Needed: Canvas, painters tape, acrylic paint, paint brushes

Apply tape all over the canvas in whatever pattern you choose

We wanted different patterns for each of our six paintings. We chose abstract for all the kids. Ian chose to add a house and I chose to add a heart.

Camryns painting. Everyone can correctly guess which one is hers first try. My artistic Camryn.

Daelyn is more precise. Her painting is most like mine and she chose to not mix any colors.

My Jayden took her time to make sure all the colors were "just right". Slow and steady for Jay.

Once Everything is painted it looks like this. This is Edison's painting. I don't have a picture of him painting mainly because I was helping him paint the whole time and half way through he decided he was done and that is was also time for him to nap.

Pull the tape up and here is what it looks like!

Ian taking down the eye sores... Yes I had these up in my bedroom in high school. I just HATED having a blank wall.

So much better

Personalized works of art! Its super simple and we all enjoyed doing the project.
